How to kick harder and faster without tiring so fast?

I notice when i swim my arm strokes have good power and decent pull to them but i lack kick power since it tires me out so much faster. I can maybe do 50 meters before my legs start to kick slower and less powerfully. I get tired quickly and breathe more which didn’t use to happen a month ago. What’s happening? Any exercises to build up my legs and keep up with my arms? I’ve tried using a kickboard before but didn’t really stick to it much, will using it build up my stamina more?
