Recently I have become interested in my chances at swimming in college. Not looking for scholarships or anything but wondering what schools I could swim at in mainly the southeast but anywhere in the eastern US works. I am expecting a lot of low-end D3 schools and maybe some low D2 schools (if I can drop enough time).
Background: I am a junior currently swimming at a top 5 US club team, however up until august of this past year I slacked off and was in a bottom-level group. This year I attended almost every practice and have dropped large chunks of time in a few months and am still dropping time at a considerable rate. I got moved up practice groups and my current group changes kids from county-level swimmers to sectional level swimmers in around a year. So I am expecting some decent time drops. This year I qualified for the high school and Georgia state meets.
Times (SCY) - (with coaches predictions for next scy season, almost always right):
23.5 50 free - (22.high or 23. low)
51.50 100 free - (49.5)
1:56 200 free - (no idea)
5:15 500 free - (5:05)
2:08 200 IM - (2:04)
Nothing insane and I will most likely end up swimming on a club swim team (the none competitive team) at some D1 school but I would like to know my options in case I want to still have that fierce competition. Thanks in advance!
