I’m a mid-20s male that has beginner run times (25 min 5k, 45 min 8k), climbs, is generally active. But I just can’t crack 15 mins on a 500yd swim. I see online that many swimmers post 8 min times for this swim, but I need a break for like 30 secs after each 100yd, and that takes me like 2.5 mins to swim.
I’ve been at it about twice a week for months. Any advice? Any specific training regimens you’d recommend?
My specific goals are: - 12 min 500 yd freestyle - Continuous 1 mile swim, not too caught up with time for this one
