So I just got back into swimming (via water polo) and I’m still pretty fast, but I’ve noticed an issue with my swimming.
I don’t use my legs.
Kinda, like for sprints and races I’m able to use them, but for sets I kinda just let them drift and hang around, which is probably shitty for conditioning purposes.
I noticed the problem and have tried to reintegrate my legs in, but my legs literally can’t keep up with my arms in terms of power and speed. I play varsity water polo and I am fast, but for long sets my speed goes from a hundred to a zero real quick.
I’ve tried emulating teammates, but my feet don’t go down far enough or fast enough.
I guess I’m asking, how to get my legs back into shape?
Advice would be greatly appreciated!
