Hi, I recently started swimming as a hobby and I am loving it to the max. Before, I was able to swim maybe 200m, but now that I worked a bit on technique, I can do over 2 KM (breaststroke, since I never learned crawl).
I would love to swim further (let's say between 3-5 KM), because I am not tired yet. The problem however is that it is too heavy on my shoulders.
They start hurting after that and that can take days to really go away. Am I doing too much too soon maybe? Is it normal or can this also be a result from bad technique.
Is this something that will go away as I practice more (e.g. shoulder muscles will get stronger)?
I'm also taking lessons to learn how to swim crawl now. Is crawl more forgiving for the shoulders or is it even harder?
Can doing shoulder exercises at home help to avoid shoulder pains when swimming?
Thanks for your replies ;)
