20% faster in a month!

Just feeling good today. A month ago I was able to swim 2000 yards (40 laps) in an hour and today I swam almost 49 laps in an hour. I don't know when this improvement will plateau but it's gratifying to realize I'm getting faster and leaner even if there's no difference on the scale (NONE - is it fat into muscle? Or fat getting faster?).

I usually go for hour-long swims with different stroke combos; these days it's 3:1 breaststroke/crawl, some days it's just crawl alone. (I will incorporate fly when I can do it without dying after 15 seconds). Long swims are helping me perfect my stroke and do small adjustments that seem to be paying off over time. I've finally found a "base" stroke that feels sustainable, streamlined, and good throughout my whole body, but that I can elevate to sprints and return to after I'm tired out.

Excited to see if I can hit 50 next week. I realize maybe these long swims are not the best way to lose weight but they're definitely bringing me back to the pool 3X a week so I can compete against former me. Thanks for letting me share today's yay.
