So my mom decided to tell the swimming supervisor at the YMCA that I'd be a good lifeguard since they're in dire need of more lifeguards.
There's one issue, I haven't swam since exactly one year ago, right before COVID closed the pools. I have to swim 300yd for the swim test and today the most i could do was 25yds. I'm swimming freestyle and my arms get super tired even though I'm not particularly weak or anything.
I also have to tread for 2 minutes, but the most I could go was 40sec (I think I'll be good for Friday though, I'm gonna try the egg beater method)
The last one is to dive into the water to retrieve an object. I really need some tips for this. Also, only the swim team at our YMCA can use the diving boards, so how would I even dive? I'm so overwhelmed.
I could ask him to retake it if I can't learn this all by Friday, but I'd still have a month to do this so any tips/advice is appreciated.
