Tell me my kids will get better at this...

So my 5yo, 9yo, and 10yo are all on our local swim team now.

5yo: Barely made it across the pool for the water safety test, but she did make it so she's in and she LOVES it. Every bit of it.

9yo: Super weak swimmer. Had a summer of lessons last year about twice a week. He is water safe, but that's about it. We had a week of "rookie camp" for 30min per night last week and this was the first week of an hour long practice. Y'all, this kid stops every six feet. I'm not exaggerating. And he just stops and waits for a coach to yell to keep going and then he may or may not listen. His stamina is so low and he just gets tired.

10yp: she enjoyed it up until tonight when most of the practice was freestyle and she can't breathe properly because she hasn't been doing it long. She LOVES back stroke. Plenty of breathing opportunity there. Lol

The two big kids both want to quit. We know we can't let them. They have to be better at this for safety reasons and they have to learn to stick it out, but dang was tonight hard. 9yo boy feels defeated and angry since he is slow. 10yo girl was crying hysterically when she got to me because she couldn't breathe and when she tried she got yelled at, "head down!" because she just stayed on her side.

Someone tell me this gets better. We are going to be at 3 practices a week. I need to know this will be worth it. Lol Sorry for the post just for that, but I need it so that I don't let them quit.
